Dr Sebastian Mohan
Dr. Sebastian Mohan is an accredited Skin Cancer GP.
Working as a full time rural and urban GP, Sebastian gained valuable insight into the high rates of preventable skin cancers including melanomas in Queensland. He embarked on rigorous subspecialty training in Skin Cancer Medicine and is now an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia graining Advanced Clinical Certificates in Dermoscopy and Skin Cancer Surgery and Medicine. He is on the Skin Cancer Fellowship pathway.
Sebastian is passionate about skin cancer education and prevention. He is a tutor for the SCCA Skin Cancer College helping upskill junior doctors. He has honed his skills in comprehensive skin examination using dermoscopy and digital photography as well as complex flap closure and skin graft surgeries.
Having trained and worked in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Cairns, Sebastian has settled back in Brisbane with his family.
"Skin cancer awareness is about empowering people to take charge of their skin health and the warning signs of skin cancers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying the great outdoors. But it is our duty to spread awareness of the risks of UV radiation damage and personal risk factors."
In his spare time, Sebastian enjoys hiking, cooking and spending quality time with his wife and two daughters.
