Dr Matthew Ludlow is originally from North Queensland and graduated from James Cook University in 2015. After completing his internship at The Townsville University Hospital he moved up to Cairns before returning to Townsville and most recently has practiced at The Prince Charles and QEII Hospitals in Brisbane. Matt has focussed a lot of his training in that time in Orthopaedic Surgery and musculoskeletal medicine, but a desire for a better work-life balance and spending more time with his family has seen a return to his first passion throughout medical school of General Practice.

Aside from Orthopaedic surgery, Matt has worked up-skilling in numerous areas of medicine, including Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Medicine, Geriatrics, Paediatrics and other surgical specialties. He has recently completed a Diploma of Child Health, as well as a Masters of Traumatology. 

Outside of medicine, Matt enjoys watching all sports but in particular supporting his beloved Brisbane Broncos. He also loves cooking and spending time with his wife and two cavoodles. 

Whilst enjoying all aspects of general practice, Matt is particularly adept at managing musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries, as well as areas of interest in Men’s and Women’s Health, Chronic Disease Management, skin cancer treatment and minor surgical procedures. He believes in fostering a trusting and transparent therapeutic relationship with patients with a focus on educating patients about their health and empowering them to be actively involved in their health care.
