LOWER LIMB & SPORTS ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON
Dr Raj Krishnan is a Queensland trained orthopaedic surgeon who was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2018.
Dr Krishnan underwent his undergraduate M.B.B.S and postgraduate orthopaedic training from one of the top medical schools in India.
He then underwent his subspecialty training in the fields of hip and knee joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery and ligament reconstruction with Dr Ray Randle and Dr David Liu at the Gold Coast Centre for Bone and Joint Surgery.
Dr Krishnan currently works as a staff specialist at the Redcliffe General Hospital where he provided orthopaedic care to the local community. He is actively involved in teaching and training registrars in Orthopaedics and medical students.
His main area of practise is management of orthopaedic conditions of the hip and knee.
He specialises in total hip replacement, total & partial knee replacement, sports and meniscal injuries to the knee as well as traumatic injuries of the lower limb.
He also has interest in treating common hand, foot and ankle orthopaedic condition and orthopaedic trauma.
He enriched his orthopaedic surgical skills by working in various Queensland health facilities including Redcliffe Hospital, Greenslopes private Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital, Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital, LCCH (Lady cilento children’s Hospital), RBWH (Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital), Ipswich Hospital, Townsville Hospital & Tweed hospital.
During his training period he has excelled in academic by obtaining the Gold Medal as best outgoing candidate at Diploma in Orthopedics for clinical examination for the year 2003.
He has presented various international scientific papers and published papers in peer reviewed journal. He has been awarded the Mohandas Weller Gold Medal for the best scientific paper presented at the Indo German Orthopaedic Foundation seminar at Chennai April 2006 and Prof C.Vyageswaradu gold medal for the best scientific paper presented in annual conference of Tamil Nadu Orthopedic association held at Chennai March 2006.
He currently consults from at sessional suites at Sunnybank Private Hospital. He does his surgeries at Sunnybank Private Hospital and Greenslopes Private Hospital.
Dr Raj Krishnan operates his own medical service from the Capalaba Medical Centre suites.
